Communicate, Research, Engineer, Architect, Teach and Engage

Lego has been around for several decades, long enough that most of us either played with Lego when we were young or at least have seen someone building a miniature house using those colourful blocks. The name “Lego” comes from the Danish phrase leg godt, which means “play well”. Not only have these interlocking toy bricks led us to ‘play well’ but also allowed people to build a culture and memory around them. And it is no surprise to learn that these simple yet complex culture items have now become a vital tool for education.

CREATE ROBO is what complements the current flow of LEGO® education: an excellent process of implementing LEGO® as an effective educational instrument. Designed and powered by Neorize Education, CREATE ROBO is a course designed for children to have the most enriching learning experience on a playful and interactive setting. Open to all elementary level students, from grade 1 – grade 7, students will approach learning in multiple directions by working with LEGO®; Neorize Education have constructed this process in one word, CREATE (Communicate, Research, Engineer, Architect, Teach and Engage).

COMMUNICATE

Students will work based on a theme and learn to communicate the theme to their classmates and general public. Students explore freely their own process of imagination, creation and presentation within the guidelines. The theme is only there to act as a simple outline for students to have better learning experience, not to limit their imagination or creative process.

RESEARCH

Research is not just for university students or professors. It is skill that every person needs to acquire starting from the early age. Most schools already encourage their students to learn research skills starting from the elementary level. Students will use various resources, such as books, Internet and visual materials, to research a theme and to broaden their knowledge of their own project.

ENGINEER

Definition of the word ‘engineer’, from Oxford English Dictionary, is to design and to build. There is no better way than using LEGO® to teach children these skills. This course will provide opportunities and experiences for students to engineer their imagination based on a theme.

ARCHITECT

Every student who participates in this course will get a chance to become a chief architect for his or her own project. Working with LEGO® through this course will not only allow students to build and assemble the project but also will challenge them to design the concept from scratch and lead the process.

TEACH

Be a teacher! There are two major presentations designed in the program, where each student will get a chance to ‘teach’ their classmates and then the general public what they have learned and created throughout the course. The two presentations will become opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge and idea behind their valuable outcome.

ENGAGE

The key to an engaging lesson is making the process as valuable as the outcome. Each class that formulates CREATE LEGO® includes interactive activities, hands-on practices and supportive environment to make the each learning step toward the final goal engaging and memorable.
